The Traveling Doll
by Marissa Lynn

One day I saw an airplane. I thought I could fly on one some day... and that's where my travels began...

I was flying along in an airplane, going to Mexico. I'll get to eat with chopsticks! I thought. I can talk to my friends from Mexico! But a voice awoke me from my day dream.

I quickly buckled my seat belt. Many other dolls were on the airplane too. I was waiting in my seat for my turn to get off the airplane I was still day dreaming. But another voice awake my day dream:

What!” I said. “Eek! I forgot to get off! And the plane is going to Antarctica next! EEEK! Oh! Oh! Oh!” I panicked. I was tearing my hair out, screaming at the top of my lungs, and dancing up and down the aisles, until I noticed everybody was staring at me, so I blushed. “Oh, no, what do I do,” I wondered. “I'm not packed for Antarctica!”

Finally the airplane stopped in Antarctica. “I'll get off the airplane and I'll stay in a hotel for a while, so when the next airplane comes I'll leave." I said. "The next airplane should come tomorrow at four o'clock AM."

I went to bed. I woke up at eight in the morning. "Oh no!" I said." I forgot to set my alarm clock. Now I'm stuck in Antarctica." I panicked again. At least I'm not in the Arctic, I thought. Well, I guess since I'm here I'll look around the hotel.

The shower was freezing. I screamed:

The breakfast room has ice on the wall, I thought. And the thermostat is on high. I think I'll get my coat! Wait! I didn't bring my coat!

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed.

The plane is coming tomorrow! I thought. Then I can leave. I shivered. Oh, how nice it would be to see Annie again. Well, I'll get on tomorrow at five thirty AM and this time I'll set my alarm. So I tried to go about my day as usual but that was hard. This hotel didn't get very many customers, in fact they only had three customers. So I had the most boring day of my life. I decided to go to bed early so I could get up early and catch my plane. Lucky for me I remembered to set my alarm.

I woke up at five thirty AM and got dressed and ate breakfast and ran to the airport. It was just landing to pick up people. I had just made it to the airport before take off. I ran into the airplane. I ran to my seat. "BUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELTS FOR TAKE OFF!" said the familiar voice. Home I went, and when I got home, Annie ran up and hugged me. And then we snuggled up in the chair and went to sleep.
